Burlington, NORTH Carolina – January 24, 2024 – Emily Harrell, Director of Global Product Management at OPW Clean Energy Solutions visited The Burlington School Middle School to share her career journey in STEM with a Science Elective class.
Inspired by a teacher, Emily pursued a BS in Chemical Engineering, combining her love for math and chemistry. She engaged students in a discussion about Chemical Engineering and shared her professional experiences, including her current role as Director of Product Management at OPW Clean Energy Solutions.
Additionally, Emily introduced the students to cryogenic equipment and its significance in various industries, particularly in clean fuels. She emphasized the importance of the products supplied by all the brands under OPWCES in maintaining environmental safety. Emily showcased different types of valves, explaining their applications and design considerations. One notable question from the students was about the most challenging aspect of her job. Emily responded that she guides cross-functional teams to prioritize safety and quality while balancing customer and internal demands, all aimed at ensuring CES's success. She added that despite the challenges, she enjoys her role in Product Management: “It was a pleasure and an honor to speak with Ayden Ring’s class today and share my experience in STEM, which is a crucial part of my past, present, and future.”
Here at OPW Clean Energy Solutions, we take great pride in having Emily as a valuable resource on our team. We are especially proud to see her sharing her knowledge, passion, and experiences with future generations, including the students at The Burlington School Middle School in North Carolina.
